Ecto Cooler
When you’re looking for strains
In your neighborhood
What you gonna smoke?
Ecto Cooler!
When you’re smoking weed
And you know it’s real good
What you gonna smoke?
Ecto Cooler!
You may recognize the name of this strain from a certain juice drink flavor that comes out in celebration of new Ghostbusters movies. The drink is a lime green flavor like everyone’s favorite ghost from the series, Slimer. While the drink tastes citrus like a tangerine or orange it is green in color. Canna-you guess what else is green in color with a citrus flavor? It’s this week’s strain, Ecto Cooler, a delicious hybrid strain I grabbed grown by Proper Cannabis. Ecto Cooler’s is what happened when Seeds of Compassion in Colorado crossed the streams of Gorilla Biscuit and California Orange. While most of the research I’ve done on the strain shows sativa leaning genetics there were a few sources which stated it was indica. My own hands on research leads me to believe it is a sativa leaner as I felt relaxed, uplifted, and a bit silly after consuming it, but without any tiredness.
Ecto Cooler produces buds that are on the chunkier side thanks to taking after the indica in its lineage. The smell a mix of heavy citrus and pine. Ecto Cooler produces a flower that is bright green, glistens with trichomes, and has enough amber hairs that each bud resembles a certain juice box in color you’ll have no doubt where the name
Ecto Cooler comes from. The citrus aroma transfers into flavor as the pine combines with it on the exhale for an almost sour experience that will have you singing, “I ain’t afraid of no smoke!”
Much like the juice drink of the same name I liked Ecto Cooler best in the middle of the day. It brings on an immediate relaxation and within a few minutes I felt my mood lifting and my humor becoming a tad goofier. My appetite was certainly up as I found myself snacking on all kinds of things with some cravings that were a bit strange. For instance, one day for lunch with my Ecto Cooler I made a rather large omelet. It wasn’t the best time of day for that meal, but I did think it tasted eggs-ellent! In addition to increasing appetite Ecto Cooler is great for anxiety and can help relieve pain.
The major terpenes of Ecto Cooler are myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, and lina-Zuul, I mean linalool. We’ve already eggs-amined these terpenes in previous posts and I bet you can already picture how this blend gives Ecto Cooler its unique aroma, flavor, and effects. I’m sorry I was having a lot of trouble not telling another egg yolk. Really cracking my shell-f up here! Instead of highlighting one terpene let’s look again at the Entourage Eggfect and how many different factors come into play when cannabis interacts with our endocannabinoid systems. Cannabis produces over 200 different terpenes and each strain contains a different mixture of them and other cannabinoids like THC and CBD. While terpenes appear in much lower numbers than these cannabinoids their specific mixture plays a part in the overall feeling the strain produces. This is why you’ll enjoy one strain more than another but a friend likes puffing on a strain you don’t care for as much. And since every plant doesn’t have eggs-actly the same phenotype you’ll even find some strain’s harvests you enjoy more than others. That’s why growers strive to keep conditions the same between harvests. Cloning is done to keep genetics the same while conditions are kept the same between grows to protect phenotype. Growers in Missouri’s medical marijuana industry go as far as keeping their plants in clean rooms to prevent as much change, if any, to the environment as possible. After an experience with Ecto Cooler your spirit will be high, but attitudes toward cannabis are shifting so that no one is getting busted for their smoke.
Joking and Toking:
